The ASTyM System is an advanced form of soft tissue mobilization which enables the clinician to initiate remodeling and regeneration of dysfunctional tissue. It has been shown to be highly effective with both chronic and acute conditions.
Treatment is done with specially designed instruments which allow for rapid identification and treatment of areas exhibiting textural changes associated with soft tissue scar/ fibrosis or tendinopathies.
This system is used in conjunction with exercise programs and normal daily activity movements (work, sports etc) to promote optimum healing.
So how does this work? The ASTyM system breaks down the dysfunctional tissues causing microtrauma initiating a localized healing response and the reabsorption of inappropriate fibrosis and/or excessive scar tissue. Then normal soft tissue regeneration is stimulated.
